Our take
The silver finish on this DDJ-400 is a nice change from the usual black, and being made in Japan gives it a touch of quality. Performance-wise, it's the same two-channel controller I've used before: 16 pads, loop/sampler, and filter effects work well with rekordbox. The mic input is handy for announcements, and the phono input lets you connect turntables. That said, the limited color doesn't improve functionality, and the price premium over the standard version is hard to justify. If you must have the silver for aesthetic reasons, go for it; otherwise, save money with the black model.
